Nice darts and setup. It's not the darts that will make Barney win again, but his mindset
the way he shows his grip it almost looks like the barrel is sitting lengthways along his fum rather than across it like it does with my own grip?

Really confusing about the grip section.
I've been watching his grip carefully for a long time and he's always had a similar grip. Like this.... Broken link(s) removed So why would he show such a drastically different grip in this video? Lovejoy and I both had conversations back and forth regarding his grip and I've never seen anything close to the grip below. Broken link(s) removed I know I'm a Barney nerd but that was the one aspect of the video I was most interested in seeing...I wanted to get a clear view of his actual grip.
Regulatori, I noticed the same thing. I didnt go and get the pictures, but he definitely showed a very different grip. Maybe thats how he starts then somehow rolls or readjusts to what he showed in the video?
Very different grips it looks to me.

The 2nd picture from the screencap is his initial starting point grip where he does the aiming before the pull back. He's one of the players that's grip position remains the same throughout the throw. He's not like Lewis where he rolls the darts with his fingers during the pull back.
I can post a multii-image collage if anyone is interested...it has Barney's grip from all different sides (even with his back to the camera) during his entire throw. I would collect an image if I came across a match that showed his throw from a different/new angle. Barney's really the only pro that I took interest in the grip....mainly because I noticed we both shared similar grips so his was a great model for trying subtle changes with my grip.
RBV said the flights were Big Wing but explained them to be regular standard flights ... which are they? Standard size or something different?
Maybe his grip is different as he is trying to show it to the camera, turning his hand etc?
When I turn my hand to try and look at my grip it changes it and the dart feels different. Without actually throwing a dart at a dartboard I'd be kind of hard pressed to duplicate my grip for the camera.
Yeah I think it must be that, although he was asked to show his grip but I think he was probably explaining about his finger placement on the point which may have distracted him from showing it as it normally is?
My best guess is as the guys have said, he was definitely emphasising the fact that he grips the point a lot, I guess he slightly misplaced his first finger because of that. If you watch the PL game vs Phil he wasn't gripping like how he showed in this video, it was the same as always.
