These have solid metal flights but the point stuck in the cane:

My sets are fine. Mine are aliminium and bendy so I don't know if that makes a difference or not

well these are like a thin aluminium, but there is some roughness to the edges from contact, so if you rub it with your fingers you could cut yourself.

I have a couple of set of hexagon darts Darren, Unicorn and TSL. Never thrown them though.
