Hey people, I received my pure darts order this morning, so thought I would leave a little review of my darts.
First, as you may know I was a bit confused with which weight of dart to use. I soon realised that it might not of been the weight, as I noticed it was my shortest barrels I liked the most.
To test this theory, I ordered a Lowe style dart, in 24 gram. (EDIT: All of these darts actually come up a gram lighter than advertised. The 24 are 23, the 22 are 21 and so on. I have two sets of these now, and both are 23 gram) The darts are 38MM in length, and around 7.7MM at the widest point (Done with a ruler, not Micrometer, so this is how it appeared by eye).
Heres some pictures:
How the darts arrived(apart from the tridents, I added them) : Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
After a bit of a play about, and these darts being short, instead of using short stems, I stuck with the mediums they came with, but found a kite shaped flight seemed the best. Unfortuneately, the darts come with a scratch to the barrel, the black coating had come off of one of the grip rings, showing the silver underneath, it looks like light in this picture, but is actually the silver underneath of the last grip ring: Guests cannot see images in the messages. Now, whilst testing these darts out I actually managed to stick to them, without going back and forth between a set not sure what I preferred!
I could actually tell these suit me perfectly, are comfortable, and the weight seems fine. So, I guess I'm pretty normal, 24 Grams.(Read edit, actually 23 gram)
Whilst testing these darts, I managed to hit two 140's, which is really good for me, and my grouping was pretty consistent.
I hold the dart right at the end of the purist grip with my thumb, and my index rests on the shark grip to the rear. They are a grippy dart, although the genuine purist grip on unicorns is slightly stronger.
All in all, I am extremely happy with these darts. The scratch was a tiny bit dissapointing, but it's not really a bother.
I'm just happy that I finally have a set I feel completely comfortable with, and now I can look to improve my game without worrying about which dart to use.
I would 100% recommend these to someone wishing to try the phase 5/bullet shape, as these are identical to phase 5's grip in the exact same place, with 3 extra sharp rings on the back.

Nice one Conan, I think the coating will get a lot of wear with use though but I agree its a little disappointing for them to arrive with it scratched. They are a nice dart though, if you like the Lowe style of barrel bullet type they are a great alternative. Look good in the pics too, I had the gold version which were a nice dart Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Nice one Conan, as you know I have them in 26g and also used kite shaped flights with mine - seems to hold the back of the dart down for me as I was finding them standing up in the board due to the short length of barrel.
Thanks for the review, +1 from me too Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Great review +1 from me as well.
I went back to my Phase 5 Mirage's lately and have been using standard flights but I'm going to give them a go with the kites to see how they fly. I prefer a shorter barrel as well.

a shorter barrel seems the way for me to go, I haven't swapped/wanted to swap since having them.
On a side not, why is it everything the missus buys to sample I end up preferring? At first she wsnted some kites, so I said I'l order you one set incase you don't like them, and a fewstandards for me.
Fast forward this week, she wanted to try some slim flights, which I again only bought one set incase she didn't like, if she did I will buy more. I thought sod it only order 1 set, il never like these. I had a go, and lo and behold I liked them, which almost sent me into a rage as I liked them and had only got one set lol. I need to remember to try different things and order multiples.

Well, I tried the kites but for some reason, they didn't work as good as standard flights so I'm staying with them for now.
Cheers!!

Fair enough mate, the kites seems to really suit me. Althoug I ordered the missus a set of slims to try, when they come I thought oh sod it lets try them. Guess what? I loved them.
This happened with the kites aswell, only bought one set for her to try, I loved them, but so did she and had to wait till I made a bigger order to get some.
This time I got 10 sets of kites, and now I like the bloomin slims. The only good thing is I will have draweres full of spares Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

After a coupe of days with these, all I can say is amazing.
It is surprising how much difference a barrel shape can make, I much prefer these to a straight barrel. I'm also quite shocked at the width difference, Looking at the pictures online I thought it would look but honestly, next to a 6mm set of barrels it is the slightest difference. I understand with all 3 in the triple bed it is an extra 4.5 MM, but thats not even a dart, and the comfort I feel with these far outweighs the slight difference in diameter.
I'f you've never tried a phase 5/lowe style darts, you cant go wrong with either these or the marksman pro 90% (I have a feeling they are the same barrel, don't hold me to that though).
I've not had the urge to swap sets, as before every game I was like " Oh maybe I'l be better with the other set" and it was a vicous cycle. These fit me perfectly, and I can now just play.
For a copy, I was expecting a bit less in all honesty. From a straight barrel to a bullet convert, I give these a rating of 9 out of 10( It would of been 10 out of 10, just the blemish on the barrel reduced it. I'm also aware they will get scratchd during use, that doesn't bother me it only bothered me as the barrels were brand new, and I wanted to cause the first scratch).

I've gone back and forth on the width thing, and I think it's probably more advantageous to throw a slim dart. I know it's only 1.5mm or so thicker per dart, but next time you miss a 180 due to the barrels hitting together, or next time you miss a double for the same reason, see if you still feel the same. It's probably more mental than anything else.

Nice one. Now that you have found a barrel you are happy and feel comfortable with get on the board and practice and let the progress truly begin. Yes it is more advantageous to throw a slim barrel as you can fit them in the treble easier, but you have to feel comfortable with the dart in order to be able to get them to the treble in the first place! Good luck

It's the shortness of the barrel I like. can you get straight barrels that are thin in the 35-38MM size? In a normal weight range?

I don't think so, some do get surprisingly short thougg. Twomlows, Beatons, and I'm sure there are more that I can't think of.

Ok thanks mate. I'l stick with these for now as i'm just happy to have a dart i'm using consitently, I fear if I buy more I will start swapping about again, instead of focusing on my game.

I've got a spare 24g set of these if you want to swap them for anything? Saves buying a backup set
