Watching footage of the great man it looks to me like he had dartitis, hence that 'jerk' on the 3rd dart?
what do you think? if its true it makes all those Majors even more remarkable!

I don't think so. From what I remember he always had that twitch on the last dart .

As far as I know he didn't, just jerked the last dart like Richie Burnett. If he had dartitis it would be apparent with all three darts.

Bunting sometimes fires the last dart... I would not call it dartitis.

There seems to be some confusion about what dartitis actually is.
It's NOT... snatching, a slump, moving badly while throwing, horrible form, snapping your head back while throwing, etc..
Dartitis is simply standing at the oche and looking at the dart board and not being able to make your arm throw a dart. You'll be looking at the target and when you draw your arm backwards to throw, it freezes. I had a severe case of it and had to quit darts way back in the late 90's. I wouldn't wish dartitis on anyone. Edit... except DB. I would wish dartitis on him. Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

He used to jerk about on all three darts at different times. The first one as much as the last. It was more exaggerated when he went for (and normally got) a double at the end of a big checkout.

Saw a video of a guy with dartitis and it was painful to watch. He couldn't lift a dart much above his waist.

Yeah...it's basically another term for "yips." I've heard stories from people...it's like you mentally want to throw the dart but your fingers refuse to follow your commands. It would be like throwing a baseball to someone and not being able to let go of the ball.
More info if anyone is interested...
