barney phase 2a w/ 30mm storms..my kinda review
i did own these a few months ago but at the time i was throwing 17g, they were way too heavy, chunky and long.

now that im up around 24/5/6g i can appriciate them more.
heres a quick little review ;

firstly the thing that catches your eye is the looks.
while the standard phase 2 is a good looking dart the (hybrid) LP finish section on the 2a make them look fantastic.

next the specs ;

i would say 51mm is my max length im comfortable with, i prefer a dart around 48-49mm with a width of around 6.4mm

barney 2a specs;
Length: 50.55mm*
Diameter: 6.99mm*

moving on...

The grip ;

the grip is quite aggressive (for me)
which is no surprise as until a few weeks ago i was using buntings.

If your looking for a solid grip then barneys won't dissapoint

how they fly;

heres how i grip

and how they land

after trying different set ups i went with a medium nylon stem with a pear flight to get the trajectory and angle of entry i like.

my style of throw; hard and flat
angle of entry preffered : flat

Final Thoughts;

looks - 9/10 especially with storms
dimensions suitability for me - 7/10
grip - 7.5/10
overall suitabilty - 7.5/10

beautiful looking, nice solid grip and great to throw

Love them. Great review. Yours land flat like mine. I'll pick up a new set of darts and keep going back to the Phase 2A's.

I actually find the grip not as rough but I'm also used to throwing darts with a Purist/Hero grip.

They will smooth out and lose that initial bite over the next few months. At first they feel a bit chunky but the balance/feel makes up for it...before you know it, other darts feel too thin. I also love the fact the grip is consistent...you just pick a spot and use it. It's a great dart for beginners because the dart doesn't force you to grip in a specific spot.

I think it's a dart EVERYONE should have in their arsenal. I was never a heavy dart fan until I started throwing these...they made me a believer. Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
If you want to save money, the regular Phase 2's are perfectly fine...you just don't get the sexy racing stripe (I grip ahead of the gold anyway so I don't even notice it).

Awesome darts and a nice review, why did you have to ruin them with storms though!! Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Do it, it's one of the few darts I can 100% recommend to people with no worries. It's also one of the few darts that seems to work for all grip types...whether you're a extreme front gripper, middle, or rear gripper, they balance great with a little stem/flight tinkering. I've never had anyone come back and tell me they buyer's regret after purchasing. It's such a simple shape/simple grip too...it just seems to work.

I'm a front gripper and there are many darts I find absolutely unthrowable regardless of the stem/flight setup....only because of where I grip/how I release.
