Trimming you finger nails short will mess up your throw for a bit of time afterward. Sounds weird, but true.
Finger nails

I actually like throwing right after I trim them. Then they don't get in the way and I feel I get a better grip on the barrel. Should make this a poll Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

My fingernails are absolutely nowhere near my darts. 100% disagree.
Yeah, I have to disagree with this one. I think it could effect people that place a finger along the point or pinch the dart like they're making a circle with their thumb/pointer finger....but for me, none of my finger tips even go near the barrel.
I could have 2" long fingernails and it still wouldn't effect my throw. Broken link(s) removed (01-15-2015, 04:05 AM)Ni518079 Wrote: I actually like throwing right after I trim them. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images. I noticed this about five years ago when I was practicing flight school drills 4 or 5 hrs per day or more. Just something different about the way the hand feels I guess. Happened to remember it yesterday as I was trimming my nails and thought I"d throw it out there as a tip. May not effect everyone or everyone may not notice this as a reason why their throw is suddenly out of wack for a short bit of time.
My nails are always cut down to nothing... no difference here.
Had to have my nails (fingers and toes) cut all the way down for Judo... it's a habit I'll never break. I'm a bit OCD about it actually, I don't like to see hardly any white on my nails
Yah right Jugger. Your nails are short but polished with colors pink and purple. Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
Curious. Vintegeray why not post a pic on how you grip your darts. (01-19-2015, 04:52 PM)majeek Wrote: Yah right Jugger. Your nails are short but polished with colors pink and purple. Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images. Pic is up.
I have sensitive fingernails. It's weird, but after I cut them my hands always hurt. So I always take care not to cut them if I have a tourney coming up. My fingernails come nowhere near the barrel though so it's not effected that way.
I have a finger on the point so need a little bit of nail. Without it the dart never feels like it's in the right place when I release.
Regarding my grip: I drop my third finger during my draw back. Works for me.
