Coaching
I don't know about you guys, but it gets on my nerves when someone needs coaching at every round. Not so much if they are new but I see the same guys, season after season, getting coached every round. Maybe these are the guys who only throw darts as a reason to go out drinking with the guys.

It gets to me too, when there is a guy who insists on giving unsolicited coaching when they aren't actively involved in a game.

It puts me off my game a little, but that's me. Maybe I need blinders and earplugs?

- If it ain't broke, you might still be able to fix it.

if its a beginner then its not a problem but I can see why you would be annoyed with long term players

In doubles, I've had it come to near fisticuffs when other people start coaching my partner. If I ever get thrown out of a bar, that'll be why.
26's so far this year: I've already lost count. :-)

At one of our games last season, there was a guy using the calculator on his phone. Until I realized what he was doing, I thought he was texting. If you need a calculator to keep score, maybe you should where calculators are provided by the league.

Common scenario in our area as most people play soft tip who gets pampered by the machine that does all the maths for them.

When they go and play steel tip, they can't figure out how to do set up. They depend on friends around and frequently bugs the poor Chalker as to how many is left.

They can't even Chalk a match!

If you're gonna coach someone you do it before the get to the oche. There's nothing wrong with that but to stop after every shot to get advice bugs the crap outa me!!

That's exactly what I was talking about. Gets on my last nerve, especially if it's my opponent. I should probably find some way to get by that so it doesn't continually affect my game.

It doesn't bother me if my opponent needs coaching. I would rather that instead of them standing there for 45 seconds after every dart figuring out what to do next.

I have to coach many of the people on my team. They just play recreationally, and don't really care to learn their outs. I do what I can before the turn, and do it swiftly during.

I agree with Milk I learnt very quickly checkouts etc I love it but I have a friend who is terrible with numbers. I'll help him out otherwise he will waste darts for me when it's not my turn the opponent can do what they want at the oche I don't wait behind I walk away till the oche is free

Played with a newbie last night who figured out right away that the math aspect was important, both for outs and self-chalking. He was nervous and slow and messing up a lot, but I bet next time we see him he'll be 500% better. Great attitude.

I agree with what a lot of you are saying - I dont mind coaching, but Id rather the other team help the guy before he gets to the line, than watching the painful gears turning smoke coming out of their ears thing after each dart. Ideally, it should be the captain doing the coaching, and not a group huddle, and not people shouting out combinations that may or may not be right.

Of course, when the captain and another strong willed shooter dont agree on the best out, look out. Not that that's happened on our team or anything Smile
Current Match Setup:

DPC Gun Metal 25g w/ Voks Tornado points.
