Winmau Dartboard Question here:
Hi Lee. Just after advice. Below are picks of my blade4 (bull)
I Need to know if there is any Thing I can do to save my Spider from falling out? Yes it is a used board. Not my oldest, I only would like to Keep using it. Yes I have a big hammer. So before I try, I like to ask.
Any thorghts ? It dose spring back out after I gave it a small tap with a small rubber hammer.

Hi Kev,

WOW, that board has truly taken a pasting!!

There are some helpful tip on how to look after your dartboard here:

http://www.winmau.com/pages/709/FAQ_Glossary/

I'm afraid that it does not go as far as hammering the web of such a well used board though Undecided

If you think that there is actually any more life left in the board then you could certainly have a go at tapping the 25 ring back in. It looks to me though like the inner core of the board is damaged to a point where it would ease it's way back out after a short time. Due to the the compression of the sisal the web naturally want to come out.

Cheers,

Lee

Unfortunately no matter how many times the board is turned the bull area still takes the same pasting lol! 3 months can be along time for a well used dartboard.. We have testers throwing darts all day long that could go through quite a few in that time, recording each and every throw and tallying every bounce out. Our results show that the boards leaving the factory consistently come out on top.

Regarding the bulging (I use the term hedgehog lol), basically no. This is not common on non worn areas if the board is used in reasonable conditions. Please understand that's difficult for me to comment having not inspected the board nor do I know the exact conditions it's being used in. What I can say though, is that temperature 'could' affect the adhesive bonding the board and that humidity could also be a factor as sisal is hydroscopic - meaning that it absorbs and dissipates moisture, hence alterning the relative density.

If you are not happy with the boards performance please email the address on the Winmau website so that we can look into it further.

Hope this helps,

Cheers, Lee

Thanks any way Lee.
The Blade 4 is still in good enough condition to Keep as Long as it holds together. So I have mixed some Araldit cristal.Gave a Little dab to the bull ring. Took the screw and spring steel bits off the back. Gave it a good hit with a hammer (and a Piece of v hard Wood, then to hold it, a timber to brace it from the ceiling. Just have to try. I will be getting a DC B4 next. Just alittle out of Price range here. Hope it holds. Cheers

Hi Lee,

I'm a new owner of a B4 DC, and it's a very nice piece. Beautifully made, and all round' wonderful board. I have a few questions if you can answer, and I understand some you may not be able too.

1. Are there plans to incorporate the Rota Lock into other boards, or will it strictly remain with the DC and CC? It's a fabulous feature and a wonder it's not been incorporated before now. Kind of like wheels on suitcases. Why did that take so long?  Big Grin

2. How thick are the various Sisal layers/are they equal in thickness on the CC/DC boards?

3. For both these boards, is the sisal a higher grade than normal, or is it specially treated to give the fine/seamless appearance it has?

4. Is it possible that this technology will eventually replace the boards with seams, or do you think these types will remain for the foreseeable future at winmau? I assume they will for price point, just curious.
