PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour Update

Entries are now open for the first PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour weekend in Wigan on January 25-26.

PDPA Associate Members will be able to compete in 24 Challenge Tour events during 2020, with each worth £10,000 in prize money.

The year's opening weekend will be held at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan on January 25-26, with two events set to be held per day.

However, following a record entry for the 2020 PDC Qualifying Schools, more players than ever will become eligible to play on the Challenge Tour this year.

Should entries reach a level which make running two events per day impractical, one event will be played per day and the remaining two events will be rearranged.

Interesting last line given the calendar is already pretty full - wonder if they will start putting a limit on entries for the Challenge Tour (and maybe even the Development Tour or QSchool).

I would rather prefer if they would start a european Challenge Tour. Travelling to the UK is just not an option for many players.

May I ask what sort of prize money/purse would you like to see for the Challenge Tour then?

I think the prize money is good, not a lot of other tournaments with a total purse in that amount.
It also isn't high enough that it makes more sense for some players to play Challenge and not the Protour.

It's £10,000 total purse for each event, winners share is £2,000.
Ha, Jester beat me to it with a full breakdown.

That's still a good purse and it gives all of these players more experience in the proper PDC setup.

75% of players won't make a profit on a weekend. You would have thought they could double it
