Just seen on twitter that the World Youth Championship was won by the 24 year old Tour Card holder who is number 46 in the OOM - how he is allowed to play on the Development Tour in the first place is a joke, but age 24 being classed as a youth is an even bigger joke. The PDC really need to sort that out, although Porter said they won't bother changing it!!!!!

The PDC really need to sort that out, although Porter said they won't bother changing it!!!!! Needs his head examined then. Was waffling about it in the shoutbox and it at the very least be capped at 21 IMO. Actually in all honesty it should be 19, but 21 would be a start.
Dartsweb gathered some questions from here for Matt Porter and I asked several questions and got the answers I fully expected, but as far as the youth age is concerned my question was:
Couple of questions on the Development Tour and its allied World Youth Championship which are for players who are over 16 and are 23 on the day following the World Championship final. Are there plans to reduce the upper age range to 21 or 22 given that the current “Youth” champion was 24 when he won it? And Porters answer was: No, this is not currently under consideration. Darts is not like many sports where you are finished at 35, you can have a long career and there are plenty of examples of players not emerging fully until their mid-20s so to keep the upper youth age limit at 23 is something we believe is appropriate. The full Q&A is here in case you haven't seen it - https://dartsweb.wordpress.com/2019/09/0...eview=true
Seems like Hollywood not happy with his management

Especially with the uptake in youth darts and Target's Elite program or whatever its called, it definitely needs to be capped at teenagers. Makes no sense otherwise.
I was fearful with the amount of stray 1s and 5s (and the odd T4 going for T18) MvG displayed over the weekend but as always, foolish to count him out. Price didn't deliver what I expected either. But a great final.
What a final! MVG didn't have it easy and first White pushed him in the semi's and then Price in an epic final. If he can maintain this then Price can rival MVG over the coming years, which is exciting in itself for darts. Nobody wants to see a monopoly in the sport & with Gary Anderson on the wain with his back issues, Rob Cross not fully kicking on from a spectacular start etc , it's good to have a player who will push Van Gerwen - even former rugby player and pantomime villain Price!
We get what we deserve. When we allow dirty players to be santized & called "intense competitors", when we accept classless gestures and taunting as healthy enthusiasm.
