Would love to get a Yorkshire board sometime - I had a choice a couple of years ago between a London Fives board or a Yorkie and I plumped for the Fives board. Not used it for a while so maybe the Yorkie may have been the better option.

Maybe it's a locality thing Mike

Possibly - I used to live in East London and played on a fives board a few times many years ago (not in a proper league, just messing around), so those memories most likely did sway the decision. I definitely want a Yorkshire board at some point in time though.

Just realised this post was in the introduction room so moved it over to the Show Us room instead to save it getting lost

Best boards ever in my opinion. Absolutely love them. Plus the doubles are smaller, so when I play on a regular trebles board, finishing is a doddle. Much harder though on a Yorkshire

This seems like a fairly recent thread to resurrect from the dead Smile

I've been looking at getting a "specialist board" for Christmas - likely a Yorkshire board or a London / Ipswich Fives board.

The Fives board is out because I'm certain I don't have room for a 9' oche, but then both boards also have a lower bullseye height than standard too.

Anyone switch between a standard board and any of the other regional boards, how do you manage it and do it properly?

It's easier than you think. Yorkshire board is 5'6" high rather than 5'8" (to the bull). Personally I throw from in between the oche's when playing on Yorkshire board (7'2" oche for Yorkshire) so roughly from 7'6" ish. That way, when I play standard it's not that much of an adjustment.
