Blade 5 or HD2 for quietness
So guys, I know the rota lock on my current blade 5 do transmit a lot of thump into the walls. I've seen videos where the unicorn board tends to have a soft ler thud compared to the blade. Plus, it doesn't use the rota locks.

My board is going into an extention room with plaster board walls. So quietness is of the essence.
I've a spare B5 up already in the room and it's quite loud. I don't have the runner surround etc up yet, but I'd like to deaden the initial noise first with just selecting the correct board.

Thoughts and opinions please....

If you get a, HD2 you'll actually make more noise as you'll be changing it each day!

I know the B5 is better quality. I'm not disputing the unicorn quality, or lack of.

This is purely sound related.

RegisterOh I know, sorry, was only jesting.

In fairness my blade 5 is also loud, maybe something could be done to the rota locks to deaden sound? Bit of carpet/foam between that & the wall perhaps?

I was thinking of some padding on the wheels. Or would a dual core B5 be better for sound.
My current one is a standard B5.

OK so I'm out now and buying some sellotape square sticky pads. Plan is to lay 2 or 3 on top of each other on the rota wheels and see if there is any improvement.
Seems logical that the things touching the wall will be sound damped so reducing noise transmitted to the wall.

RegisterGood luck I tried that, looked so good then by the time the rota fits are turned slightly to tighten to the wall the pads have all come off!

Hi,
you could also consider to use "Sound Insulation Dowels" for the wall mounting.

I know this may not be what your looking for but I have two setups...I have one B5 on a door in the basement....you can hear a dart hit the board from down the block....lol....BUT... I have another B5 on a tripod setup in a little room next to our bedroom...I can throw on that anytime, night or day and not bother anyone...including the wife sleeping in the next room. The only noise is from bounce outs. Luck in your endeavor.
