The British Darts Organisation is pleased to announce that the following players will be invited to compete at the 2019 BDO World Professional Darts Championships.

3 months to go before the event starts and still no news of where the event will be held, no tickets on sale, and no details of any TV (and no doubt also no details of the prize fund released either).

I'll be surprised if it's not at Lakeside again, but with no tickets on sale and it now coming up to the Christmas period when people spend their money on presents I'll be amazed if it's a sellout wherever it is held.

As far as TV is concerned, my guess is it will be either streamed on the BDO youtube channel or they will pay for it to be on Freesports or one of the other low ranked sports stations. BBC, Sky and ITV are all out as they show PDC, Channel 4 contract has gone, Channel 5 doesn't show much sport, I doubt BT Sports would want to show the whole thing either. So not a lot left other than Freesports, etc or youtube!! Really hope I'm wrong and it is on one of the proper channels though.

It is so sad that the grass roots & middle flight darts organization is in such a shambles For years thev'e been digging themselves into a hole which has got bigger & they seem to have no means of extracting them selves & the organization totters on getting worse by the year without Tv /video coverage how much longer?

Personally I don't blame the new board that came in, the blame for the trouble the BDO is now in lies completely with the previous board and the County delegates that kept voting them in - and they still rewarded the old chairman with the role of financial director on the new board, despite the fact they lost shed loads of money under her leadership!!!

Seems crazy to be thinking of the Worlds again but, as MC says, worrying that the organisational side seems to be a bit behind.
