How to Change your Signature

Access the User CP:

Navigate to "Change Signature' in 'Your Profile':

In the 'Edit Signature' screen, enter the text and/or images you want to appear.  Make sure you preview before updating.  Complex signature's can be tricky.  Also keep an eye on the size of your signature.  Excessively large ones tend to get complaints Wink .  If you're a site owner or have a business, please read the Forum Advertsing Rules before linking to them in your signature.

When you're ready, select the 'action' option - most common is 'Enable my signature in all my existing posts'.  Hit 'Update Signature', and another job well done!

If anyone's having issues changing their signature, please post in this thread.  Had some reports of difficulties.

As of 4/30/2019 there seems to be a problem with updating signatures. My experience is the following: I go to the user control panel, click on 'edit signature' on the left, edit my sig how I want it (a link to my blog), select 'Enable sig on all posts', and then click update. Once I do this, the same edit screen is reloaded with 'No Action' selected, although the site does seem to remember what I want the content of the sig to be. Also, none of my posts show a signature, not even new ones made after attempting to edit the signature. I think this feature is broken at the moment.

Edit: The following post seems to suggest that a signature variable may be missing from a template: https://community.mybb.com/thread-220695.html

If that was the case, many more users would be impacted.  And my group can, which I've already demonstrated.  At any rate, template issues would have to be confirmed via the Admin CP.  We've documented we have one member with an issue, Admins will have to take it from here.

You're welcome.  And I see it's back to gumbo2176 retroactively.

I see no sig at the bottom of your post.

Nor can we update it manually via the ModCP.  Tried, but no joy...

I was able to change mine from green to red.
If you know what I'm doing, don't tell me .... I find bliss in my confusion.

Might be a group setting, since you're not in the same groups as some of the other members who've posted.  Will make a note in the admin area for an admin to check.

A couple of thoughts off the top of my head

1 - in your User CP under the "edit options" there is a tickbox to display users signatures in posts - is this checked?

2 - when replying to a post there is a tickbox asking to include your signature - it is unchecked for me mainly as I don't use the signature feature, but is this checked when you reply

Thanks millions for trying. The fact that my sig is not showing on posts means that something is wrong somewheres, and I am certain I have done everything on my end correctly (like 100 times by now ha!) . So hopefully it gets fixed soon Smile
