Shot 910 24g Darts Review

This is another set of darts in Shot darts new heavier range of Soft Tip darts, again its the 910 range but a different weight and shape.

These are the 24g version and once again they are 90% tungsten and can be bought for £28 from Dartswarehouse.com, there are a few different models and weights in the 910 range and this particular model is also available in 22g, you can see the full range here:
910 RANGE

The darts come in the Shot slim line packaging with barrels, lip points and shot translucent standard shape flights and inbetween shafts.

The darts are a bit like an elongated tear drop shape been thicker just above the nose and then thinning out toward the end of the barrel, its a very pleasing shape to look at:

As you can see in the pics above and in the close up pic below the main part of the barrel has a thin triangular shaped ringed grip which is closely spaced apart, I think its more of a medium grip level because the rings are close together, if it had more space in between it would be quite and aggressive grip, but I like this grip as it is, but if you need something more grippy it may not suit you.

Here is the weight of the 3 barrels with nothing attached:

Here is the full set up as it comes from the box, as you can see it is just 3 tenths of gram under 24g:

The length and width of the barrels:

Here is a close up of the barrels dimensions:

Here is the balance point of the barrel with nothing attached, as you would expect from the shape it is front weighted:

With the full set up the balance point moves to the centre:

Balance point with my own medium, short and extra short shafts:

This is my natural grip with these barrels:

This is how the barrels look in reverse so that the points are at the thin end and the shafts at the thick end:

One thing I found that was curious was how much the rear of the barrels were drilled out, as you can see in the pic below its quite a lot, I measured it at 25mm, so the solid part and therefore the weight of the barrel is just around where I was gripping it:

Conclusion:

When I first got these darts I thought that they would not suit me, I know that I have a front grip and I believe that front weighted darts are probably best for me but ever since my injury and the way my throw changed that has not always been the case. I just looked at these and thought I would have trouble with them.

I was totally wrong! The very first throw I had with them I was immediately impressed by the lovely balance and weight of the dart. I don't always get too concerned on my first few throws where the dart lands but I always look at how it flies through the air when I release it and these where so smooth and balanced it was a joy to throw them. They almost felt like they just needed a little nudge and they would find the target themselves. Where I gripped the barrels is exactly where the bulk of the weight is, which I found out when I stuck a thin stick in the barrel and seen how much of it was drilled out.

They are weighted just right and felt so easy to throw. The only thing I would have liked is if the grip was a little further a long the nose of the barrel, I think that may have enhanced them a touch more.

Just for experiments sake I tried throwing the darts with the barrels reversed, I was surprised to find that they still flew very well!

These are ones of the best weighted darts I have thrown, if you have a similar front style grip to me I think you will probably come to the same conclusion also.

These are easily 10 out of 10 for me because of the nice balance, I will be getting some steel conversion points to see how they throw set up properly for steel tip, will let you know what happens.

A lovely dart 10/10

Nice review as always grip. Your too nice with your reviews, I don't think there is one review that you didn't like the darts. I think those testicle looking darts awhile back you even gave a good score on them.

Not my kind of dart, not a soft tip guy. Look nice though I am liking the shot darts and I have been thinking of adding a set to my order along with those titanium gold ones you posted the other day.

Got to get you some crappy darts and see what you think of them.

LOL which testicle darts?

I liked these because the balance/weight was so nice, I wish I could change a couple of things to them though just to see if they would be better still, such as knock 1 or 2 mm off the length and maybe 0.5mm off the thickness and extend the grip a little more along the nose, may totally ruin them but would be nice to try. They are very sweetly balanced as they are now though with my grip.

I think my major problem is that I like almost all the darts but there has been a few that I never got on with such as the Phase 5's and the Wade darts, but unless a dart has some real problems or is very badly made its not really going to get a bad review as such. I think the score at the end is just my own personal feeling but I would look at the reviews as more a source of info about the dart because its impossible to cater for everyones own tastes.

I thought the weight limit for soft tip was 18g. Not true?
26's so far this year: I've already lost count. :-)

The darts that were just balls, I think they were pink I forgot who made them.

I think you are right about catering to people's tastes everyone does have a preference. Your reviews do give a lot of info for the given dart. Which really is the key, or at least from what I read in posts on this forum.

LOL the Dipper Darts D Ball, they are just for fun more than anything else.

I do try to put as much info in about the darts as I can so people can make their own minds up, but like I have said before all darts are like little objects of finely crafted art to me so I find it difficult not to like them really Smile

Just hit 3 140's with these, been playing for about 25 mins and think I have the sweet spot with them, felt for sure I was going to get a max but its always letting me down on the third dart, so annoying!!!

My wrist is aching now so that's it for today anyway Sad

I think the shape of these reminds me a little of my Accudart Penetrator darts, they were nice to throw too:
