Glen Durrant stated he join Q-School if he does not win Lakeside.

I think if he joins the PDC he can be a long time top32-20 player.

Never can tell. Currently he has the confidence of knowing he's the best. But the PDC is nothing like the BDO, he won't have the opens where he can cruise through in 3rd or 4th gear for a few rounds, he will have top players from round one. There will be 20-30 players who can match his game not the hand full there are in the BDO. I would expect him either to crash and burn or make steady progress to the top 16 like Bunting then slip back a bit when the reality of where he stands sinks in. However if it all goes well there is a top 10 spot out there to be taken by anyone who wants to grab it with Taylor on the way out and 3-4 players not playing their best so who knows. But I think Bunting is a good compassion.

My first thoughts before I have read your post were that he would be probably better than Bunting and he would be a lot better than Hankey... On the other hand, the possibility of him winning the Lakeside is quite big as well. Will he switch if he wins?

My guess is no. Isn't there some BDO contract stipulation saying anyone who reaches the last four and then jumps has to return his winnings?

There is or was something like that. I think Bunting had to wait very long time before he could have announced his move to the PDC.
Another thing to consider though is the possible long streak of WC wins he could get. I see the point of not switching if you're the reigning champ.

I can't see Duzza being very motivated to win Lakeside this year. He's been talking about moving to the pdc for over a year now. I expect him to not get very far.

From his interview at the Finders Darts Masters, that last part is a bit confusing?!? Is he missing the word 'Otherwise'?

“I have made it very clear that the PDC will be my last challenge, I’m still playing at the World Championship at Lakeside this year, I signed a contract for it, and if I win Lakeside, I’ll stay with the BDO. I move to the PDC, “says the Englishman

He was pretty clear if he doesn't semis he's gone, otherwise he said he signed a contract and feels he has to honour it even though he wants to go.

Just seen the following on facebook posted by Glen:

Quote:Off to the Dutch Open for the first time in 7 years with a heavy heart. My decision of staying with the BDO and keeping my promise that Susan is the priority moving forward means I have parted company with the Best Manager and the man that changed my darting life Mac Elkin.

Susan is going to look after my affairs now and has made things clear:-

1. No more giving darts and shirts away

2. Reduced exhibitions at the right price - No working for a cheap rate

3. Come off Facebook and back on the practice board

I just want to take this opportunity to thank Mac and the team - What a ride - BDO number 1 / 23 BDO Opens / 2 x Finders / 2 x World Masters and 2 BDO World titles

I have been sad the past few days after informing him

Love you Boss and good luck for the future and with Corey Cadby and Dimitri Van den Bergh at such a young age you will guide them and make them millionaires and champions
