common throwing problems and how to fix them
My problem, well one of them  Rolleyes , is that I touch my shirt or chin, when drawing back the dart. Does anyone know how you could fix this issue? My guess would be to shorten the drawback ?

This a great thread. Certainly worthing of a reputation point. I have enjoyed the tips so far. I have stopped giving advice because every time I think I have figured out something, it would later prove to be wrong. But, in the last year I have been reaching the same conclusions as mcockrell. It is nice to see these ideas codified into very well written tips. This is certainly very helpful to me. The only one I am still not sure about is between cuddling and pointing the dart up during drawback. I need more time to work out whether I agree or not. I think the rest of the advice is spot on.

Hi all I really don't mean to sound stupid but I noticed that I throw my darts quite hard because I find it difficult maintaining the same arch every single throw so I thought if I throw the quite hard there's less time for them to via away from the target. Is this the wrong thing to be doing?

Great post. My biggest problem which has just been pointed out to me is I keep pulling my elbow down really bad both 6 inches.. and I cannot figure out how to stop.. any tips to stop?

Find a platform of some type about the same height as your arm when aiming and just practice extending your arm until you feel what position your arm needs to be in when extended

I do a few of these.  It's a wonder I win any matches  Smile

Probably does explain why I'm so hit and miss. 1 day I can be hitting tons+ for fun, the  next day hitting 12 and 18 when throwing for 20's. Hard at the moment though as I get so tired so quickly and my arm drops, so I try to limit my practices to avoid getting into bad habits and throwing for the sake of throwing.

I get days like that very often and it's the most frustrating thing ever especially when you know you throwing the same way but never hit what you've hit previously. I find having a half hour break and then return to the oche with a new perspective helps a little

Thank you for this post. I have ironed out my slight inconsistencies in a couple of hours after reading this post. Last 3 practice legs have been 15 darts 14 darts 15 darts with a 132 checkout and a 78 checkout. Back to hitting 140's again.
