Winmau Blade 5 dartboard review
Great review. I guess for me at the moment, my decision will have to be, Blade 5 on Amazon for $65 with free shipping, or spend $20 more, and get the Blade 5 DC for $85 with free shipping... hmmm..... decisions decisions....
Current Match Setup:

DPC Gun Metal 25g w/ Voks Tornado points.

I played on a G2 once: it was hard as hell and my darts felt out a few times. Is the G3 a hard board too?
Nup. G3 is perfect in terms of firmness. My G2 was hard, my blade 5 is way too soft. The G3 is perfect.

But it's still pretty expensive compared to the Blade5.

Can somebody compare Blade4  to Blade5?

Yeah they were hard that is why they spent a lot of time getting just the right level of density for the G3 and I think they have succeeded with that Smile

I think the Blades are certainly softer so more than likely too soft for some people.

I just put up a new B5 replacing my B4DC after I had it up for 1 1/2 years.
I'm like a kid in a candy shop now. The B4DC had gone so soft and was blistered well beyond it's use.
My new Roydan Lam darts were sinking in to the barrel and in some places nearly 2mm into the barrel.
I'm loving this new B5 and the firm feeling of the darts and the sound of the board.
The only problem I'm having thus far is no 180 yet.
Darren your review helped me in the decision to get this board over the B5DC. I'll let you know if it last longer than the B4DC

I've had my B5 up for several months now, on it's second rotation.  Still very pleased after a string of so-so Unicorn experiences.  My only complaint - the board's diameter is a little smaller than my previous boards.  Which causes some minor issues if you have a non-Winmau surround.  All in all, a good experience...
