Winmau Blade 5 dartboard review
Nice review Darren.

Your board is a lot tidier than the one I got, your bull is central and the paint is good with little bleeding.

I didn't like mine that much when I first got it for the reason it were a little scruffy looking compared to my old B4.  Nevertheless, I grew to like it, well quite a lot because I don't think about bounce outs, they don't happen that regularly.

I find the sisal is quite firm, firmer than my B4, but it's ok I just have to not throw lazily.  lol

Great review, and personally useful as a B5 or a B5DC is in my future.  Much appreciated-review will come in handy when I hit the local darts shop.

Hard to remember now as I no longer have a standard B4 but my B4 Dual Core seems firmer but its fairly well used now so the top fibres may be flattened a bit.

I personally like the veins in boards. I've never been a big fan of the whole flawless, neat and tidy look lol.
The missus has got me a blade 5 for our anniversary on the 22nd, gave it to me early but I still ain't put it up yet lol

Cheers!  Yeah I think a lot wont mind seeing the veins, I am happy either way, my only concern is sometimes you get parts where the biscuits to join together so good and may get little gaps but I guess you could say that's the character of the board and makes each one different Smile  Having said that if it was not for the boards where they don't have veins I doubt anyone would be bothered by that anyway.

Thanks mate!  I think the problem with just trying one or two boards is its possible that some may be softer or harder than others depending on how they have been stored and whether all the sisal has been made equal etc but I think on the whole its still quite a soft board.

I agree, wish we could try more boards here without paying a small fortune

Yeah a bit unlucky for you guys I guess.

Thanks Mick Smile I think with the inking its probably the thing people notice the most, something that should be checked on quality control and remedied if needed.

I'm getting very close to the point where I need to get a new board and I'm torn between this and the Unicorn Eclipse HD2.

Given the choice which would you most recommend?

Great review Darren! As far as which will last longer, B5 or B5 DC all is I can say is my B4 DC lasted quite a bit longer than the B4. So to me it is well worth the extra $ for the DC.

Well I still like the spider on the HD2 a lot and initially I think it looks the best to the eye but I don't think it wears as well so for that reason I would say the B5.

Thanks Shawn! I have heard a couple say they think the B4DC has lasted longer than the B5DC too.
