DIY - cheap alternative 360° lighting system

Hey guys, I made a light with a bicycle tyre which was the only round thing apart from myself I had laying around doing nothing. I was cutting like a quarter out of the tyre and thinking that'll use the remainder for the LEDs but the quarter section looked pretty sleek so I used that instead. I had to buy some cheap brackets https://www.bunnings.com.au/carinya-20-x...t_p3975816 and they do the job ok. Used some cables ties, LEDs and the bits to run the LEDs.

If I was to do this again I would use a hula hoop, that is a brillant idea for a ring light and I wish I had read that before making mine. I would also find the best LEDs. The ones I bought are not as fantastic as I hoped they would be, maybe a Gerwen Price instead of a Michael Van Gerwen of LEDs.

ps I giggling earlier today like a school girl when I hit 3 x treble 16. Apart from a lucky 180 a few years ago now that's the only other time I've hit 3 darts.

I used the same brackets from Bunnings for mine lol. Buy a hula hoop from K-mart, the small one I think is 680mm. I chopped about 100mm out of it and is exactly same size as target branded surround. It really helps if you can get some silver reflective tape behind the leds to direct the light to the board more. Much prefer a $20-$25 build over a $150 purchase lol. Pics are before I chopped the extra 100mm off hula hoop.
