Angle that dart enters board ??
I recently changed from standard to pear flights, so my darts land much flatter.

But a lot of the time (not always) they land leaning to the right - i.e. towards "3 o'clock".

I'm guessing its either my grip or release that causes that .... Any ideas?

thanks

Also could be the firmness you throw at. From my own experience with smaller flights if I throw too firm they'll land very similar to what you're experiencing.

I have the same with smaller flights, they land sideways on a lot of darts. Only with some lighter sets I don't have that problem.

I'd say it's something to do with the release of the dart, as the smaller flights don't correct themselves in the air as much as bigger flights so any minor release issues are more noticeable with the pears than they might be with standards

What are your darts called? (a pic may help if they're not by a brand name). Maybe also a pic of your typical grip would be useful.

It could be to do with the release as Walker says. As you release the dart you may be catching it on the right hand side slightly.

Thanks everyone - I do think its probably related to my grip or release, at least partially.
The same thing happened with standard flights, although then it would lean up & to the right, like towards 1:30.

Sometimes it just 'feels different' as the dart leaves my hand, & I know immediately that it's going to lean to the right.

Adrian Lewis 25 gr phase 2.
But I get the same results with other darts - other straight barrel ring grip, like 22 gr Tony O'shea P2.

I had a similar tilt to my throws and realized I was actually holding the dart a little off vertical when bringing it up and then forward until releasing it. I also tried slightly smaller flights from the standard and I was all over the place. My darts looked like a failed missile launch. Promptly back to the standard flights for me.

Have you tried other barrel shapes, or maybe shorter straight barrels?

I have a couple sets that aren't straight barrels, Harrows Aero's 25gr and some 26 gr bullets (Designas I think).
I haven't thrown either of them in a while because I couldn't get consistent with them.

I also have a set of Bristow's that are a little shorter than the Adrian Lewis;  I also haven't thrown them for a while either.

I"ll dig all of them out & 'give them a throw & see how they go'.
Thanks
