Opinions on Robbie Green?
So Robbie Kong Green is at the matchplay. I wondered what your thoughts are about him? I'm not really interested in describing him as a player, but a man. He had some shady past. as you know Is he OK or just a thug? Some think he's a really bad figure in the game. There were some drugs scandal and some incidents involving a possible casino destruction. I don't wish to bring these ol' stories up, just simply curious about your thoughts on his character.
Why are you asking about him in a non darting sense? Has he done something against you?

You say you "don't wish to bring these ol' stories up", but it sounds to me that is exactly what you are looking to do asking the question in the first place.
I've never heard him being described as 'a really bad figure in the game before'. Not sure what your sources are - I know he tested positive for cannabis once - no big deal. I quite like Kong as a player - I also like Ritchie Burnett who recently served a ban for a similar offence. Now Tony Eccles - there's a real villain….

Well I've got nothing against him. I just like to have a picture on some players in a non darting sense as you say. I find it very intriguing to debate on whether our favorite players have good or bad personalities.

With the line you quoted I meant no stories have to be told, no details, just give your honest opinions. If you don't have one you don't need to answer that. I personally don't see a problem with asking questions which aren't 100% darts related. If this insults anyone, or if I write something which I shouldn't have, feel free to report or delete.

I've been on some other forums where Green gets a lot of hate. I could mention exact forums or users but I'm not certain about the rules here so I leave it alone for now. While I know these comments aren't too useful and often misleading, I was still wondering if someone knows the reason why he is so unpopular. Also interested about the community here, do they agree with this or not.

My personal opinion is that he's not so bad as it's stated. He's done some bad things but I don't have any negative feelings towards him.

Hi Shed, sorry if you think so.  Really don't mean to insult anybody. Also the question doesn't state my personal opinion. Could you explain a little bit? If I harmed any rules I will abandon this question of course.
See I've never understood how people can be fined and banned for testing positive for marijuana. Personally I think they should get a bonus if they manage to win something while they're high, I feel like a winner when I manage to muster up the motivation to make it to the fridge when I'm high

Problem is it stays in your system for quite a while so even people who use it reacreationally will often test positive.

Never heard about the guy though, but I don't feel like going on a witch hunt today.
Sorry FordHam, I am going to lock this thread as, while closing it goes against the 'free speech' element of the forum, it could turn very negative, very quickly.

Also it is very personal and could well land us in bother if any posts are deemed libelous, I vaguely remember another forum had a similar thread about another professional player, it got out of hand very quickly, a lot of lies and rumors were posted and it ended with the players wife threatening legal action.

So while we allow most things, on this occasion I think it would be better to close the thread - if you want to know the in's and outs of Kong, or any player for that matter, I am sure you will find what you are looking for on Google Cool

Cheers
