For new people, give this a read before doing an intro...
Hello folks, been browsing a few days and seems a great place, name is Arthur and I like to throw me some 25g Fordhams, used them a lot over the years and likely will stick with them. Nice to be here anyway, just off to browse a bit more now.

Hello everyone, I'm Sam from Bristol. I use 23gram Raymond Van Barneveld world champion gold darts. My favourite player is definitely Barney. Smooth as silk. My favourite personal darting moment was hitting 170 checkout to win a match in a local tournament. I also love the reviews on YouTube which is what brought me here.

Welcome Sam and a 170 checkout is a dream, congratulations.
I've been playing darts for 3 years now and play in my local league in Spain and also in Seoul when I spent some time there. My highlights would be finishing runner up in the captains cup tournament. I use 22g Target Silica Intrepid (usually change but these are sticking!)
I'm going over to Florida for the next few weeks. Is anyone aware of anywhere to play? or even soft tip? I'm interested in trying it out!!
Welcome aboard.
The OP is great advice for any new members of the forum ( like myself ), to paint a picture about yourself in your introduction thread.

After reading this thread, I have realised that I missed off a few things in my own thread which I should of put in there, but I can easily add that in at a later date.

We're a friendly bunch and love to welcome new people. I'm a newbie myself and got a very warm welcome that ended up with a couple of pages of responses.

I personally find it easier to respond to new people when they share some details about themselves/darting life. It generates conversation and follow-up questions from members.

Some examples of stuff you could talk about..

-Location

-How you got into darts.

-Soft tip or steel tip player

-Any good memories with darts...like a crazy 167 check-out, hitting a 5 count on bulls to win a Cricket match, etc..

-What types of darts do you use. Do you collect old darts? Any new darts you have your eye on.

-Favorite pro player if you watch it on TV/youtube

-If you own a set of darts and unsure of the brand/model, post a picture. I personally like tinypic for uploading photos. We have some real dart historians here.

-How long you've been playing.

-Any friends that post here/brought you here.

-If you play in leagues, tournaments, etc..

-Any issues in your game or something you want to work on. We can steer you to the right forum.

-Possible darts you may be interested in. Since you have to wait 50 posts before posting in the buy/sell section, you can always list a set you're looking for and it's up the members here if they feel secure in entering a transaction with you...you may just get a personal message! (after 5 post I believe).

I'm not saying you have to hit every point...but just tell a bit more about yourself. It leads to more follow up questions and allows us to get to know you better. The knowledge in this forum is incredible and the members are friendly...take advantage of it and if possible, add to it!

Just throwing a few topics out there. If you just want to say your name and that's it, that's fine too! Wink
Hi everyone my name is Brian and I am from New York. I started playing darts in 1998 but only recently got into it seriously. I play on weekly league here in NY and attend every tournament I can get to. My favorite player is Gary Anderson. I am currently throwing 23gr Target Storm darts. I would have to say my best darting moment was at a 501 tournament I managed to hit 5 180's for the day along with a personal best 136 out. I didn't make the finals but I had a great time.
