Why I hate metal stems and like nylon
Phil uses slikstix. They are nylon. Only the part that screws into the barrel is metal.

These do not have the same flaws as traditional metal shafts. And they are quite good and preventing robin hoods.

Dont wory mate, my first post was obviously a joke. Just because taylor uses metal shafts obviously wouldnt make them better than nylon. Slikstiks DO have the same flaws. The metal part gets bent after falling on the floor a number of times. The coating comes off and makes them look crap. They always come loose unless you use an o ring, and they are like 8 gbp!

Saber doesn't like alloy stems because he has deep emotional scarring. One night while a young Saber was home alone an alloy stem came to his house. Not knowing any better young Saber let the alloy stem in. Well what happened that evening cannot be posted here due to it's details but we'll just say Saber was never the same afterwards.

Till this day you can hear Saber quietly sob in his bedroom after removing and throwing away alloy stems from dart packages.

Lol that is also the reason why he prefers slant nose darts.

My friend throws these exclusively. His metal never bends. Maybe because he uses the magnesium ones?

RegisterYeh i hear you. Thing is when I started out I bought darts to light for me. Got caught up in the 21-23g thing, so i need heavier stems for these darts. 24g+ mostly nylon!

go nylon the only way IMO

i have started using ali stems and my darts are flying straighter then with nylon. i am using harrows aztec which are pretty thick and have had no issue with bending so far. the only ones i don't like are the very thin ones which do seem to bend easily. mind you i am not sure the fact they bend a little is a big deal. slikstiks are nowhere near straight shafts yet they fly very well. bristow won 5 worlds and pretty much every other tournament a few times using ali and taylor won god knows how many titles with them before he switched to slikstiks. and i see he is again gonna be using metal stems with target.
