Practice Break - arran01 - 02-21-2015

I'm a relative newcomer (at 48) to darts and have been practicing an hour every night. I have to go away from home for a day and night next week (5am to 10pm, work then travel) so practice is not possible, and then at the end of next month I'm away for four nights.

Is there anything I can do when I can't be practicing at a board, or do I just have to accept a slump in the little progress I've built up in the two months since starting?

Paul Lim told me he used to practice phantom throws to perfect his stroke. He recommended 50 a day, but i think it's up to you if you want to do more

Maybe use this time to memorize outs?

Thanks. Great ideas and as I'm practicing outs that fits in well. Cheers

A good alternative is to head over to Youtube and watch a few dart matches. But instead of just sitting there watching, try to pay attention to why they throw at the numbers they do. If you see them throw at the bullseye with their last dart, ask yourself "why did they just do that"

Study what they do and when you come home try to implement that into your own game.

I hope you don`t mind if I make a suggestion? I have got a device called a darts caddy, this is totally portable. I am not sure how much these retail for now, but it is something to think about.
