I have seen it a lot in the last days, that people have quoted long posts with pictures in it. And it really makes threads hard to read, if you see the same pictures in three different posts.

Please remove pictures in quotes and try to only quote necessary parts of a post and not the complete post, if it is a longer post.
It really makes threads harder to read and also increases the loading time of the threads.

Just a little comment.
Couldn't agree more, hard to read through posts when you see the same picture 3-4 times, when you reply please remove the picture makes it easier to read through a Thread especially the "show us what came in the mail"
Ayup Comrades ^^

It would be helpful if one of you, explained to us technophobes.
How to remove photos from quotes, it's a good thread tho.

When you reply you see the box, click in the right bottom corner of the pic & back space, works the same for whatever is typed
This was brought up in the following thread - a couple of pages worth from post 27

http://www.dartsnutz.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=29386

All I do is highlight the picture(s) and hit the delete button, then add "PICS REMOVED" where they have been deleted.

Good replies all.  Two types of images to deal with - links or in-line images, and attachments. Attached images are not an issue when quoting, because they're automatically dropped in the process.  How to know the difference?  Simply mouse over an image.  If it says 'Filename: blah, blah', it's an attachment.  If not, it's a link.

Here's how to clean-up those links in your reply, and make the forum experience better:

When you select a post to quote, you go to the 'Quick reply' box at the bottom of page.  There you're prompted to quote or deselect.  Quoting keeps you in the Quick Reply editor, but you can edit the contents.  Looks like this - Click any below image to enlarge:
[attachment=16614]
Select everything beginning with '[img' and ending with 'img]'  Like this:
[attachment=16615]
At this point you can hit backspace to remove, or simply type something like 'Edit: Images removed'.  The highlighted string will be over-written with your new text.  Like this:
[attachment=16616]
Now you're ready to go to the 'Preview Post' page, which is the full HMTL editor.  From there you can check your results and add extra text or fancy stuff like text effects and emoticons.

Editing long text works very much the same way, except you have to select and remove text between '[quote' and 'quote]' markers.  Which stands for 'begin quote' and 'end quote'.  Can get a little confusing when editing long nested replies, but you get used to it.  And you can always save the whole mess as a draft, go into your Control Panel (CP), and delete the draft.

Hope this helps a little...

cheers...
